Of course it's NC. The song and Zuma as an overall album are great.

Zuma is great in its entirety...but while you're breaking it in, "Danger Bird" is initially one of the songs you want to skip over. It seems shapeless.

I don't really understand this poll...why debate "Danger Bird?"...it's a challenging, awesome song...still I enjoy any opportunity to sing the good graces of Neil Young.

As a whole Zuma is a masterpiece to me. Also without it, it seems the entire Pacific Northwest wouldnt have the music scene it does...Im talking to you Built To Spill and your many sound alikes.

"Danger Bird" is a fine example of Neil Young's greatness.

Not Crap

NC

I think Thalia Zedek was influenced by this song in some of her musical choices.

I love Neil Young.

But this isn't one of his best songs. It's not crap, but it's not one of his best.

Good call. I also think that Codeine, Slint and Shipping News have used riffs and textures, orchestrations and mood lifted directly from several songs off Zuma.

I submit that you are wrong in saying that.

I submit that "Danger Bird" is one of Neil's finest. Esp. when he kicks in the last verse:

"I could FLYYYYYY-Y-Y-Y-Y-Y fly fly AWAYYYYY-AY-AY-AY."

Sweep me up, already.

I submit that "Danger Bird" never takes off.

I submit that "Cortez The Killer" ate the "Danger Bird" for dinner last night.
