After reading so many, "I'd go see a band called........." posts, I thought I would start a thread of "found" band names that aren't actual bands.
One I just happened upon:
Division of Ryan
- which is an electoral division in Queensland, Australia.

When we say that we are referencing a
competition we had back in the day to make up the best band name. Since then it has been an ongoing habit for most of us.
The winning name was Police Teeth. Runners up were Pant Gift, Test Fuck, Gentle Fudge and Book Reference Book.

I would go see a band called Division of Ryan, esp if that band were Jay Ryan doing solo renditions of Joy Division songs
