woah woah woah. "Spin the black circle" is in itself a total ripoff of Hüsker Dü's "Beyond The Threshold."

That's a three-fold riff steal. Damn, Hüsker Dü, you were good...

Velvet Underground's "There She Goes Again" borrows from Marvin Gaye's "Hitch Hike." It's at the very top of both songs.

also, i think it's been discussed that the chili peppers' 'dani california' is a blatant rip-off of tom petty's 'mary jane's last dance.'

This was actually an in-joke within the band. Alvin claimed it was a coincidence. It probably was.

The drums sound great on this album. That's largely because Mark Trombino mic'd the drums for this record and then left because he didn't think they would ever pay him. Alex Newport recorded the rest for free. True story, true story.
