Presonus Digimax may catch fire soon...................

sooooo, I have a Presonus Digimax LT 8 ch preamp for some extra inputs and converters that is plugged into my 003. I bought it on Ebay from the US, and am running it on a stepdown transformer. (240V here downunder). Question is, why does the damn thing get so hot? the faceplate is REALLY hot to touch after about a half hour. I know its not the greatest piece of equipment in the world, but it works perfectly well for me. Any Ideas? or is this normal?
p.s. it always performs flawlessly otherwise.......... :?:

Ahhh, sorry guys. I should have mentioned that the unit is running off a 4 plug powerboard that has 110 volts running into it, and is also powering 3 110V DBX compressors, that are functioning well and dont get hot in the slightest bit.

The digimax is in the top of the rack, no poweramps anywhere near it.

I checked the step down, it says 110-120 v, does not mention amps, and I'm not sure how to measure the output of it without dying horribly.

Presonus is an absolute shit company. Not just because they are a bunch of whiny neo-evangelical hole touchers. No thats not why. Its because they don't believe in testing their shit. They'd rather you did the testing for them, although when you do find a problem (like overheating), they will probably not going to fix it. They will just discontinue the product when it stops selling, while in the meantime they release ten other untested Chinese crap boxes.
