i'm looking for something to preamp 2-4 mics at once (and output each one on a separate channel)
i don't give a damn about per-channel EQ, pan, anything at all other than input/output and the fact of it preamplifying the signal so i can get it in the computer at a reasonable quality.
ideas?

2i suppose i should have mentioned... price is a priority
i'm not shooting for ultimate quality. i just wanna get some sound inside tha box, ya know. lay down some ideas. record more than one drum at a time.

3Check out the Yamaha mg10/2 mixer.
4 mic preamps, direct outs on the first 2.
The preamps are said to be much better than Behringer and some say even better than Mackie.
It's only 99$ too.

5You can use the inserts on the first 2 channels as direct outs,
the other 2 can be sent out via the stereo outputs by panning channel 3 hard left and channel 4 hard right.

6I second this and want one myself. If you have a Guitar center near you the sales guys are autorized to bring them down to $80.00 if you do the half hearted haggle thing casually and with a smile.milesofsmiles wrote:Check out the Yamaha mg10/2 mixer.

7I have one of these for live submixing, and in my experience the preamps are VERY noisy. Be warned.
