the reason appears to be a battle between the owners (land vs business), its pretty confusing.
Yes this was the club that was in Purple Rain, but more importantly it was one the best rock clubs in the country, not to mention one of the last independently owned clubs. The sight lines, the sound and above all the staff, were all absolutely top notch. Same goes (and is probably doubled) for the smaller room the 7th St Entry. The list of bands that have played here over the yrs is longer than you can imagine. It a huge blow to this community and to be quite frank this has made me infintely more depressed than Bush winning the election.

Hey it reopened this weekend! My band got to play the first show of the reopened Entry, it was excellent
