Trans Am - Bad Reputation (Thin Lizzy)
Jawbreaker - Pretty Persuasion (REM)
Frank Zappa - Purple Haze (Hendrix)

I could probably go on all day with this, but there's cleaning to get back to.

All of these covers are good. I would also add Dead Kennedys cover of Viva Las Vegas. cant think of others off hand.

Engine Kid "Needle and the Damage Done"

That "Believe" cover on the Macha/Bedhead record is pretty great.

"Highway 61 Revisited" by PJ Harvey.

"The Chain" SKWM. That and "Independence Day". Both are quite, quite great.

I think Neil Young's "Oh Lonesome Me" is really wonderful as well. Better than the amped up version by Don Gibson.

On, and "Yoo Doo Right" by Geraldine Fibbers transforms that song into a pop hit. Really. It's pretty okay!
