So, I just bought a whole new slew of equipment for home recording that I don't really understand, except that it was recommended to me by an engineering buddy when I said I wanted to upgrade my previous set up (also because the RNP i had borrowed, had to be returned to its original owner).So I bought an Avantone CV-12 condenser mic and a Black Lion audio Auteur preamp, and I want to record into Ableton on my mac computer with this equipment but for some reason I can't figure out how to do it properly. I have a suspicion that I need some other piece of equipment (maybe a digital-audio converter?) but i'm not sure...Right now, the only way I can get it to work is if I run it through my TC-Helicon VoiceLive 2--using that as a preamp, but I know there has to be a way to use that audio auteur preamp on its own...Please help!
