Would you pay $32 to see Slint? I'm disappointed.

I payed 16 quid. Plus booking and delivery and junk, so it's probably the same.

2 quid more than I payed to see Sonic Youth, only half of what it cost me to see Nick Cave.

Or the way I always work out these things when talking to Americans: it cost me the price of 4 packs of cigarettes. Which seems fair.

4 packs of smokes in these parts is only $20!

I guess I should be happy they are even playing LA and that price has kept the show from selling out. But still.. for $32 I expect to be able to go up and jam with the band

Yea, that is overpriced, you should give a second thought about going. I mean, I would have said for 31 dollars it would be worth it, but 32 is really pushing it

32 bucks is approximately the cost of two compact discs. How many shitty discs have you bought that weren't worth one red cent? If it's a good show, it'll be well worth it. Thirty bucks is standard ticket price for anyone outside of the underground: That's what I pay to see Willie Nelson, Bob Dylan, Merle Haggard, Loretta Lynn, Nick Cave, Leon Russell, etc.

I paid sixty bucks once to see Neil Young & Crazy Horse with Sonic Youth and Social Distortion opening up. These were 1990 dollars, and it was worth every penny.

I guess I just don't see Slint on the same plane as these bands. When I was in college, Slint meant so much to me. I picked up a guitar because of them and they set a certain standard regarding indie shows in my eyes.

Not only were they innovative, but they proved that money had nothing to do with it. I'm not emotional about it where I don't like them or anything, I just hate to see friends who can't afford to see them be so sad.

Hahaha, why Hell? If you knew anything about Los Angeles, you would know that this town is HUGE and Hollywood is only a fraction of the area. I grew up in East LA and worked in Riverside for a while. Let me tell you, Riverside was like going up in them woods.. if you know what I mean.

edit: ooops, I just realized my location says, Hades. sorry.. hahahaha
I need some coffee.
