I am currently a senior in high school, and I will finish high school likely with a certification in engineering. For my final project in Engineering though, I have to find a problem and solve it making a product to solve this. I have hit a wall, and I need to know what are some common problems among musicians that could possibly be solved by a new product (preferably a simple problem, but I'll take any problems I can get). So just go loose and discuss your biggest pet peeves with any instrument or equipment and I would be more than happy to try and solve some problems.

The biggest problem is flakiness. Perhaps an alarm clock that takes over people's brains would be a good idea.

Shit, how about finding a drummer? That problem alone is why I'll probably never live my dream of playing live shows. Maybe a machine that shoves all the ability into your head a la the Matrix. You could download ability from people and sell packages like we sell amp modelers - Bonzo 1.0 or Grohl 1.2 - The Scream Years. Then you could just find a hobo off the street, upload Dave Grohl's abilities into his head, drop a Granstar and some giant cymbals on his ass, offer him a nominal share of the money from playing shows, et voila! ...you're all set to play Serve the Servants at your local dive bar!

Hearing loss is pretty common among musicians of all genres. There are things to help address this, like ear protection - but oftentimes people will forget their ear plugs or think that they don't need them. So maybe some time of device that you can attach to a keychain that will allow you to make temporary ear protection from napkins / other items commonly available at events.
