Bell Labs ADT

Really getting into that Geordie from Killing Joke sound and I know he uses the Bell Labs ADT, but they are costly. Can you suggest something that approximates that sound? I was eyeing an EHX Clone Theory?

Yup it is, it's one of those things shopping online via youtube videos and just going by that, and I thought the Clone Theory had a similar sound in one video (of course I cant find that video now). While googling trying to find that video I ran into this interview with Ryan Peterson (Coliseum) https://ryancoliseum.tumblr.com/post/53 ... ster-faith "The Clone Theory is as close to Geordie from Killing Joke’s Bell Labs ADT set up as I could manage on a limited budget and in a pedal that could be easily fit on a pedal board. It really opens up the stereo field of the guitar, gives a bit of modulation and a bit of boost, and gets me into that 80s chorus-y guitar vibe of my dreams"

It is a short delay device, but so are chorus and flanger units. The delay line in modulated.
Well sure, but you can't unmodulate it on most choruses. So it never does a proper double-track or slap-back kinda thing. However it sounds like the Clone Theory does a decent job, so maybe the Bell ADT has some modulation to it? Again i'm not familiar with the actual unit.

Sorry Tony, what I meant is, like a chorus or flanger, the Bell Labs ADT is as you said, a short delay device, but with the delay line modulated.
DIY and die anyway.
