Dunno. Not inherently undignified in that I could see a hard rock guitarist donning this and it being par for the course if not a conversation starter. Would definitely clash with the norms of indie rock/shoegaze/"post-hardcore"/noise rock/math rock/etc. But someone wearing a black leather/pleather vest over a white button up shirt, or no shirt at all, and playing tunes in the vein of The Cult or AC/DC or Monster Magnet or High on Fire could make it work.
This one, though ^^^, looks like something made for the express purpose of annoying others.
