Selling a Jazzmaster or Jaguar

Not sure if this is kosher or not, so please delete this if need-be. Some lovely human stole my Jazzmaster out of my car last week and at this point the likelihood of ever recovering it is pretty slim. With that in mind I do find myself in the market for another Jazzmaster or Jaguar, preferably Japanese or American, is anyone selling?

That’s horrible, I hope they suffer some kind of cosmic retribution.
Just wanted to say that you should probably hold out for a JM, a Jag won’t fill the gap. The MIM Classic Lacquers are a lot of bang for the buck, I hear, at least now the MIJ pricing has gone stupid.

FM four'oclocker is selling a JM in the Gear Liquidation thread. It's an oddball though with a Bigsby.

Sorry about the thievery.

I'm a bit agnostic as I like both a lot but probably lean more towards the JM side.

I saw that, I can't handle Bigsby's and the JM/Jag trem is the only one I've ever really jelled with.

If you're not hung up on the Fender name on the headstock, there's not a world of difference between the Fender Classic Player (cheapest Fender branded JM) line and the Squier Classic Vibe. I tried both a few years ago and they seemed like the same guitar, except the Fender was 4 or 5 hundred more. Plus the Squier had a roller style bridge and the Fender had a weird Tune O Matic thing going on that looked like it would just scrape the shit out of the strings.

You could also get a Classic Vibe or a J Mascis, drop a Mastery bridge in there and some correct pickups and still come in well below the cost of the Classic Player.

I feel like a broken record saying this, but that Classic Vibe shit is some of the best guitar value for the money out there.

+1
The CV guitars are fantastic and certainly better than MIM's were 15 years ago.

I played a CV Jazzy a few years ago and couldn't get along with the trem which I believe is the same they were using on the mexican ones for a long time. I had a blacktop Jazzmaster and ended up putting a Descendent Vibrato on it.

I ended up going for an American Professional Jazzmaster as it has a lot of the mods I would have to do to a stock guitar. I'm guessing I'll need to swap the pickups, but it already has a mustang bridge and just the 3-way/vol/tone controls.
