Moody minimalist instrumental piece of art, or pointless meandering?

Never heard of it until now. Found on YouTube and skipped through the various sections because it was dull. Turned out all the sections were.
Easy C.

C'mon, it's Dave Ghoul and the violent creep from Queens.
Easy crap.

I thought the Reznor love might offset the other stuff.

This sounds like bad Chicago "post-rock" from the US-90s that was passed over by a major label. Jesus that sucked.
Reznor looks likes he's still an insecure adolescent kid despite al of his success.
Moody? No, no mood, that was dull as fuck. Completely without edge of any sort.
No more boring a mantra exists.

If this was just a tune by Joe & The Six Pack?
It would not even warrant winding up on the eventual "Expanded Reissue..." bonus disc.

I first listened to the instrumental track and thought, "hmmm, this isn't so bad. Just sounds like a foundation track. Might not be too bad if overdubs happened." Then I heard the finished song and thought, "well, that certainly didn't improve."
Maybe we should all take that instrumental track and do our own overdubs and see if it can be turned into something interesting.

That's where it had me at first. A slow start, but had the anticipatory tension of what could turn out to be something pretty cool. Plus I love the tone of a good electric piano. But man...it just sort of slowly deflated.
