VS I won't lie, I favor the Cheesy Gordita Crunch and consider the Stuffed Grilled Taco the "well, this is the best I can get my hands on" option if I'm nearer a Taco John's than a Taco Bell, such as right now, when Taco John's is my only option for a taco lunch.

The cheesy gordita crunch is the closest thing left at Taco Bell to my all-time favorite: the double decker taco. The cheesy gordita crunch is even better when you add a Doritos Locos shell to it.

As much as I'd like to say I like Taco John's better than Taco Bell, the truth is: the only things I like better about Taco John's are the potato oles.

The cheesy gordita crunch wins this dome for me.

I'm going with Taco John's by a wide margin, although admittedly it's been awhile. Would crush a few of those stuffed grilled tacos by the looks of them though.

Same here. We have Taco Cabana, Taco Bueno, and Taco Bell. We have Taco Shack, Taco Fresco, Taco Joint, Taco Bronco, Taco Break, and Taco Brother, but alas, no Taco John.

I, too, seem to remember Taco John’s to be better 20 years ago than now. Didn’t they used to have fresh salsa available in store?

Last time I was there, it just seemed like they had adopted the Taco Bell model. Which is fine, except they aren’t Taco Bell.

Regardless, I will still visit them every now and then to get like six orders of oles.

I've never had either, but Taco Bell just opened a Cantina in Hollywood. So you can have a craft beer with your Mexican Pizza.

Some Taco Bell restaurants overseas have this as a possibility, too. Also, you can get kimchi in your taco or burrito at Korean locations. Highly recommend.
