That one song by that one band.

I don't care for the term "one hit wonder" but perhaps there is an artist that (for you) did One Great Song.

I'll go first: "Knife Slits Water" by A Certain Ratio. By all accounts a fine band with some interesting material, but nothing else to me comes close.

Feel free to sell me on the charms of this band.

And submit your one song.

I'll probably think of others, but for now I'm going with Lorraine by Bad Manners. Something about the harmonica part and the bassline just works for me and the song gets stuck in my head for days at a time

They’ve got other good songs for sure, but Teenage Fanclub really just needed to exist in order to give the world “Everything Flows”.

This may not exactly be in the spirit of this thread, but the first song I thought of was:

Procol Harum’s “A Whiter Shade of Pale”

I can’t recall any other songs by this band but love the tune.

I got pretty into their catalog years ago and it's really good organ driven chamber pop. None of their songs sound at all like "Whiter Shade". The Zombies have a similar dynamic.

"Dream On" by Aerosmith... which is only half-decent because it sounds like they were trying to sound like Led Zeppelin.

I disliked the Eagles Of Death Metal guy's entire vibe before the Paris shooting and he certainly hasn't made himself more likable since. I don't like QOTSA guy or most of his music either and what I've heard of EODM pretty much sucks, but that song "Complexity" is one snappy little number.

The Aerosmith thing was bad enough, but this one had me all...

Star sign is one of my fave songs ever. Rest of their stuff I think is just simply ...ok.
