A group worth talking about. One of the current greats, IMO, and maybe one of the very best long-running bands in existence. I went in starting with Mosquito, which was just right for me.

Not crap, zero waffles. I still haven’t forgiven myself for not seeing them last time they came through town. Great music for thinking, especially while tending a campfire.

Wish they would tour the States a little more, but I realize they live in the EU and Australia so it's hard to get here.

Sometimes it's good to live in Tasmania. (and after the Necks, they screened Mark Jenkins' film BAIT with Gwenno doing live soundtrack)

Insanely good

i've started with Vertigo, on headphones, two or three times, and I haven't found a way into it yet. Will try again on speakers. Recommendations welcome.

Mindset was the in for me. Despite the ambient* leanings - I still consider them a jazz combo, or a vision of what one could be, so I think speakers are best.

* it’s very early

Hanging Gardens (1999) was my first, I think it struck me quite immediately. I've heard most of the records released since then, they're all very different from one another, and they're all so not crap.

For years I’ve assumed this was a punk band. Decided to check them out and I am surprised to learn they are jazz. Listening to Sex now and enjoying it.
