Studer A820 - Manual Set Up display reads RAMP GENERATOR TEST MODE

Just incase anyone can help me solve this problem I am trying to set up the a820 manually (full disclosure, we are awaiting a software upgrade after our the eprom corrupted n the MP Unit Audio MCH 1.820.782.23.card). I have tried turning the tone generator on and off. Google suggested turning the NRS align on and off which did not make any difference.
I have searched the manual and have not found anything. I guess it is quite likely to be contected to the sfotware issue but just shouting out incase anyone can help me.
