The guy from Bow-wow-wow and Three Oh Seas with Weasel Walter playing guitar. Very no-wave, almost Slits like at times, just enough cowbell and sax.

Shocked at how much I love this record.

A weird record - well played, recorded blah blah - but it just seems kinda unnecessary - if that makes sense. In venn diagram terms this is the perfect space where Crass “penis envy” and The Slits “cut” intersect. I love both these albums … but this kinda just does nothing for me…I want to like it more, but it just doesn’t spice my curry

Can’t vote as it’s neither crap or great

Dwyer is good at uncovering influences that for some reason aren’t heavily utilized, but unfortunately the songs are never quite there.

Good take. Also, it takes six people to do that?

interesting thoughts.

i love it. i kind of agree they aren’t very “song” based, each track kind of fades in and out like a dream.

Thanks for the head's up, I don't follow Castleface too closely because Oh Sees went the way of the kids years ago.

I don't think it's supposed to be an "important" album or whatever this thread is trying to compare it with. Almost everyone involved already made their musical "statements" years ago. If anything, it's a strong reminder that Dave Barbarossa is a powerhouse drummer who doesn't get much due because he was in a pop band (and Matthew Ashman died before the reappraisal got under way). I don't know the singer, but I like her vocal approach too.

I wish that latest album by Bush Tetras - a beloved, groundbreaking band in this household - sounded more like this.

NOT CRAP
