Hey folks- I know there are a number of very bright and capable people here, so thought I would reach out. I am interested in having a very good CAD file of the aluminum guitar receivers I have been milling and shaping by hand.

As a kid I worked on CNC punch presses, brake presses and shears, as well as setting up the old school machines manually. But that programming was just editing lines of code...and it was 30 years ago. I'm going to look for a decent and usable CAD program and try to teach myself enough to get close.

However, I would love to do this right, and would be happy to compensate someone fairly for their help. I have 40+ builds under my belt, so I think a lot of the kinks have been worked out and the dimensions are mostly settled.

Let me know if anyone is interested or knows someone I should reach out to.

Unfortunately all my experience is Solidworks/Mastercam and the licensing fees generally make this prohibitive for personal use, so I’m kind of useless.
Fusion 360 is likely what you want and with the online resources and your background you could probably teach yourself.
That said, if no one here can help, I have an engineer that works for me that used to be the TA in the Guitar Lab at Purdue. She’s a good teacher and I would be happy to ask her if she would be interested.
