Which is the better Minneapolis band in your opinion? I like the early Replacements more raw "punk" sound on the Twin Tone years beforejumping major label and trying to become the next Big Star. Yet the Huskers have a more consistent track record through the SST period with the only two lackluster albums being Candy Apple Grey and Warehouse, when they went to the majors.

Husker Du over the replacements, easily. Minutemen over both of them, very easily.

Don't worry, Dragon, the next two difficulty levels will be more challenging: Rifle Sport vs. Urban Guerillas, followed by The Suburbs vs. The Wallets.

I love all those bands a whole bunch, each for entirely different reasons. But if someone put a gun to my head?

i prefer the replacements.

The Replacements were a really good, solid rock band. Husker Du basically invented post-hardcore (or at least were among the first to do something more with it).

Of course, so were the Minutemen, Black Flag, and the Meat Puppets. come to think of it... 1984 was just a really kick-ass year for SST. but between the two mnpls bands, Husker Du hands down.

i picked the third option...they both suck...and hey i like the Minutemen too! but if i HAD to pick one of the other i hate The Replacements far far more than Hüsker Dü so the latter...
