I bought a used dbx 160X.
Any comparison of the 160X vs. the newer 160A's? And... has anyone slave up an older 160X with a 160A?

I can't remember where I read it, but there was a long post on some forum from a dbx guy about this. He said the 160X and 160A and 160XT are all the same thing, just made in different places/time periods or something. I don't know about slaving them together althuogh I'm guessing it should be OK...might be a good question for dbx themselves.

I don't think so....this isn't the post I remember, but covers the same topic.

The gist of it is that the 160X and 160XT are the same, just manufactured in different places. The 160A is the same circuit, vca, etc. but with different manufacturing techniques.

so it seems... there was a thread on Tapeop back (when it still worked) that discussed the same thing and explained that XT stood for "transformer" but that could very well be a farce. Im sorry to talk out of my ass. boy does my breath stink!
