Yeah, ive definately narrowed it down to the mic itself. It does its little soundscape of noizes with any preamp / cable combo.

Looks like I will definately have to get this fixed by a "professional".
Never had a mic fixed before though. Wondering if the best plan for me is to send it off ...

I have an AT 4050/CM5 that has recently gone crazy.
Seems that it is making alot of loud noizes on its own and its quite a symphony!
Mostly it is like a rolling surf at the beach sound, then makes sounds like someone playing with an old mono synth... Weird high tones that change frequency ...

That record is pretty amazing considering its vintage, and the pure D.I.Y. of it all...
Noble and Muller made all of those loops with a DOD sampling stompbox!
