As far as I am aware that is how it is spelt. The guy I was recording had a website and checked the spelling and everything. I dont think they taught english in tribes so it may be wrong.

I would beleive the main reason they dont have sweepable filters on all desks is because of the damage it does to the monitors. you can blow the speakers. I beleive but not certain, it can really reduce the life of a speaker. I think it would be more apropriate to pop it in at a frequency, if it is ...

I would have to say a Neumann U47, (fet) provides one of the best kick drum sounds, just dont forget to put a pad on. Another fav Kick drum mic that might seem unusal to some is, a Electrovoice RE20. and my final fav kick drum mic is a beyer m88.
