You might look into having a tech put in a pentode/triode switch. You can see if the voltage is low enough to use 6V6 power tubes.
Also, look into THD Yellowjackets, which are adaptors that allow you to use EL84 power tubes with your amp. that should get it down to about 15 watts.

here's what i've got so far...
i unhooked the red lead from one of the drivers.
that made it quieter. i could crank the volume all the way up and it wasn't as murderously loud.
i'm told that there's really no good dummy-load type device, that they'll all fuck with the amp's performance in a bad way, except for the weber MASS with all the bells and whistles. that's what my gear guy tells me anyways.
so. other than the unhook-the-driver method, or the weber MASS, anybody have any other suggestions for how to get the tube saturation without the volume? any 12" drivers that sound great distorted but have really, really low sensitivity?

pps - opinions on the super hard on? i'm liking the one i borrowed, but the cheapest i can find one right now is $130 and that's without an LED. it kinda seems like a lot to spend. but its effect is quite tits. anything else i can get cheaper that'll do the same (or very similar) thing?
I have a super duper 2 in 1... basicly 2 super hard ons in one pedal. I love it. goes from very natural sounding with my orange to just stuipid amounts of gain that is just kinda fun.

13if you don't mind me asking, what did you pay for it and where'd you get it? i'd like to pick one up if i can find it kinda cheap, but those things are so freakin expensive everywhere i've seen em! i got a snarling dogs "black dog" for $35 that i'm really digging. it works great with this amp. but i'd like to be able to get more drive structures than just the two i have going (amp or amp and pedal), and the variation i can get from different volume settings on the guitar. and the SHO really seems to kick the amp in the face... also, how do you typically use the duper duper? both turned off is clean, one turned on is dirty, and both turned on is insane?
