Hey you EA Wiffleballers. The two year strike has taken its toll. Finally we are going to start (and end) the new season at the Logan Square Auditorium.
I started a campaign at thepoint.com to organize the event, and test out Andrew's website a bit. There is a set day, Wednesday the 20th of February. It is far enough away that you can schedule around it. The Logan Square Auditorium is an ideal venue with wide open spaces and an uper deck. They are giving us a deal since we aren't hundreds of drunk retards, only dozens. The $600 goal of the campaign will cover the fees. We can bring beers, and girlfriends. It will be fun and stupid. So much fun and stupid it will last whole month.
If you want to play, sign in on the site and pledge the $30 (you will have to pay $30 if the "campaign" is a success). We will only do this if we get enough people, as is the theme of the website. So, there won't be a situation where 7 of us show up for a lame game. It will either happen and be fun, or it won't happen at all.
If you think $30 is too steep, think how much it cost to spend $30 on something else.. Not so bad now huh?

2As much as I'm interested in joining and getting friends to join, what is this campaign and where does the money go?
EDIT: Nevermind, it didn't register in my head at first. I'm in.

3Money goes to renting the auditorium. The link is the campaign on www.thepoint.com. This is a website that has a bunch of goal orientated functions.
This is kind of like an evite, for a event that won't happen unless enough people sign on.

4OK, one question about the murder ball rule. This doesn't apply for force outs, does it? Only to first base and extra bases?
EDIT: Other question, if 30 people pledge does the fee drop to $20?

It's any situation that you could normally be tagged out. For instance, if someone is on his way home and there is no catcher, you try to peg him before he gets there. It is a last ditch dodgeball-like move. If the runner is on base, then you can't peg him.

If that happens, I think I will award the winning team the surplus, or buy refreshments.

Playground style, with captains picking players? Or random draw from a hat? Or some sequence of secret Mason handshakes or something?
