I once met Miguel Angel Russo, the last Boca Juniors coach that won the Libertadores Cup. That was like in 1996, I was 11 and was with my dad having dinner in a restaurant

I met Neil Young in 2001. It was near the hotel where he was staying. Since he was playing here and I didn't have a ticket I thought that maybe if I'd meet him I could ask him to see if he could put me on the guestlist. So suddenly I saw him walking with 2 more guys from his entourage and I said "hey Neil, nice you to meet you" and all that jazz, I gave him a hug, I remember that. So I told him "Neil, I'm out of money and I would really love to go to yr show, if you don't mind, can u put me on the guestlist? If u can't I understand ..." and he said "sure! that's not a problem, give me your name" So I gave him a piece of paper with my name and my brother's. So the next day we went to the will call and 2 tix were waiting for us! We got see him right in the front row rocking out with his Crazy Horse!

Hung out at backstage with the Mudhoneys (1st in Buenos Aires, 2005, they were supporting Pearl Jam on their South American tour) and in Sao Paulo last june. Terrific people, share with me their food and drinks and got to talk about music and life and whatnot with them. On the Buenos Aires show, at one moment Jeff Ament and Eddie Vedder came to hung out with the guys. It definetely felt like I was in Seattle, but no, I was just a couple blocks away from my home. Bizarre.

One morning I saw Billy Barty eating breakfast alone through the window of a restaurant. I kept walking until I got to a 7-11 where I bought some typing paper and a pen, and headed back to approach the pint-sized powerhouse. He was very gracious, giving me an autograph and inviting me to sit down. He reminisced about his days in LA as a regular on the Sam Yorty show. Sam Yorty was a former mayor of Los Angeles who had his own kid's show for some reason.

The resultant autograph of the late Billy Barty has since been inserted into my copy of the record album "Have Harp, Can't Travel", the cover of which features Mr. Barty trying to cram a large harp onto a public bus.

God knows if I'd lived with Leee Childers I'd want to boast a bit.

Agreed.

I love it that RevEver is more concerned about the fly in his beer than standing behind Jackson Browne.

That's Jackson Browne right.

It's either Jackson Browne or Richard Belzer

I met Johnny Depp with my cousin one night in Dublin, October 1992. I shared a taxi and had a couple of drinks with them before going our separate ways. I didn't actually know who he was at the time, he just said he was an actor. I remember thinking he was ancient cos he around 30 at the time. Pretty cool guy, he didn't make me feel out of place or like a gooseberry or anything. I think my cousin might have been doing him at the time, I've heard that from others since. She also hung around with Jeff Buckley around the time he was playing in Sin E in New York.

Her brother knew Ethan Hawke and Uma Thurman, they lived in Chelsea at the same time. I didn't meet them so that doesn't count.

Bumped into Bono coming out of the toilet in a cinema in Dublin. Tiny cunt. Also when I was 11 or 12, myself and my cousins used to sneak into Larry Mullen's garden and wait for him or one of his security dudes to come out and tell us to fuck off.

The big dude out of Faust (Zoppi?) started coming onto (i think that's what he was doing) me and my friend after one of their gigs, giving us his phone number, that was pretty weird.

Steven Drozd asked one of my mates standing next to me if he could score smack anywhere after a Flaming Lips gig in 1999. Pretty sad, really brought me down after a great gig, the desparation in his eyes.

Another 1999 one...I was in a cinema in the West Village and overheard Spike Lee and Quentin Tarantino in the lobby having their famous falling out over the N-word. It was at a screening of "The Blair Witch Project"...my friend picked up Tarantino's shades from the seat after it was all over, still has 'em.

Served Shane McGowan and Sinead O'Connor at a bar in Dublin.

Steve Malkmus called me a "landfill apprentice" on a postcard in 1995.

Shook the hands of two of the men that played on "Spiderland", Pajo (met/brownnosed him about four times) and Walford (shy dude).

Sat next to Mick Jagger at a bar in the east Village, backs to each other. Yer man out of LCD Soundsystem was there too, but he was nobody at the time (1999 again). He gave a mutual friend his cd, it had all the tunes he would make millions with years down the line on it.

Don't have any great stories, just happened to be in the same place at the same time as these heads really.
they said our youth was dead...how could they know?

I commented that it was a cool shirt, and he was like "DUDE man, those guys were nuts...crazy crazy people. They scare me..." or something like that. Pretty funny.

I once had a long (about 90 minute talk) with Bill Paxton about his movies. Yes, he did comment on my name (remember him in Weird Science?), and he said "Oh nice...a man of my own heart" as he shook my hand.

Alright those are the funny celeb stories.

14:59.......15:00....

Nate from Converge is a cool guy. I saw Doomriders play at Beat Kitchen in 2006 sometime and he says "Hey, who was here when we played with Daughters, Torche and HeWhoCorrupts?". This kid that me and the bassist from my band think is a total douche raises his hand. Nate goes "Oh great, the guy with the girl haircut.". That was hilarious.

George Romero gave me the best advice I've ever heard in my life, which was "Don't make a zombie movie.... do your own thing."

Mark Borchardt (the guy who did American Movie) once complimented me on a patch on my hoodie I made out of one of those little chicago flags on a plastic stick. He said "Man, thats great. I love people who have pride in where they're from." I later realized who he was after a friend mentioned it. That was really cool.

I shot the shit for about 20 minutes with Lori Cardille from Day of The Dead and Coralina Tassoni from Demons 2 and Dario Argento's Opera. That rocked.

I saw the bassist for The Honor System on the Fullerton bus once. Their guitarist always recognized me from going to their shows. He's super nice.

Dave Simon of Deal's Gone Bad used to work with my current roomate and still remembers me from playing with them in around 2004-5.

I hung around with Tony Erba from Nine Shocks Terror whenever his band Stepsister would come through. Their rhythm guitarist told me about how he was in the New York Dolls for about 5 minutes.
