"Pissed" meaning "drunk" is fine with me as long as it stays in the UK (and whatever other Commonwealth countries use it). If I hear Americans use it it's just like "bloody" or "pub" or "flat" - people trying to sound British and thus somehow cool.

However, "taking the piss out of [someone]" is a fine phrase that I think should be Approved for Import. Unfortunately, I can't really use it, because people (a) won't know what I'm talking about, and (b) will think I'm trying to sound British and thus somehow cool.

I also like being able to post at this piss-reasonable hour, usually before all the Yanks get up and we can have the board (almost) all to ourselves. It's like "got you back and no returns". Aaah, Greenwich Mean Time. The time every other country sets its time by. The time you only dream of.

Yes, GMT-5 doesn't have the same ring... :(

Sometimes I get pissed because I have to get up early and go to my piss-poor job. Normally I'd only get up at that kind of time to take a piss. It's kind of a pisser, so I come to this board and find someone all full of piss and vinegar, and maybe try to take the piss out of them.

We, too, use pissed to mean angry. But we say pissed off. But it's funnier to describe a drunk person as pissed. Or wankered.

I was never a big fan of bladdered though. I just dont like to say bladder when there may be ladies present, call me old-fashioned.
