i think you'll find that most if not all of the regulars here are big nerds. some are huge nerds. there's a lot of really intelligent folks here. and a lot of nerds. as far as linus goes, i think he comes across as one cool motherfucker, and i know i'm not alone on that. maybe next you'll say kerble isn't funny? or you'll start saying some kinda other funny stuff.

Wait! I have met many of you. None of you are nerds -- not that I look down on the socially challenged. The term "nerd" simply doesn't apply to you, no matter how much you'd like it.

You are kind, smart and funny people with interesting pursuits. All of you whom I have met have turned out to be engaging people (at least in in some way). You folks do interesting work professionally (or have designs on doing so), and what you're doing musically/artistically generally strikes me as worth doing. And most of you have cool girlfriends, friends and families as well.

Plus, some of you are very sexy to me.

So as much as you'd like to think of yourselves as nerds in some sort of inverted, honorific way, it just doesn't work. Trust me -- I've worked in law firms for years. I know nerds. You guys would be viewed as completely exotic (and slightly terrifying) by these socially challenged dingbats.

So wtf. Referring to the members of this forum as nerds is about as applicable as calling them Mexican.
