Sorry, we can't do it.

I'm just now getting into Cheap Trick after hearing the good stuff in the Matt Dillon movie Over The Edge.

Any recommendations about where to start/end?

Oh, yes of course.

The best CT record, in my opinion, is a bootleg. It is called Samurai Rock Band. If you find a copy, buy it. It's one of the best rock records ever made. I have blabbed about it at excruciating length on this forum.

Some people love Live at Budokan. I think it's good, but I find I never listen to it.

In Color is the best studio album. Great record.

After that, you could get either the first record or Heaven Tonight. The first record is more appealing as a whole, but Heaven Tonight has Surrender, which is, you know, one of the greatest rock songs ever written.

Dream Police, you can buy that if you love the other stuff.

The other records, it's kinda like buying Lou Reed solo records or something. All of them have moments, but you're not ever going to get the same kick out of them. Every subsequent record is deeply flawed.

I thought the late-period eponymous record was pretty good, probably the closest thing they've done to the qual of the early stuff. People who would know speak pretty highly of the album Rockford as well.

They're kind of always good live. Occasionally great. Everyone in the band is great at what he does, and Robin Zander is probably, still, today, the best singer in rock music.

our bass player john needs a new speaker for his 1x15 cab. his amp is an svt. he is wondering what he should get. any suggestions?

Electro-Voice EVM 15" speaker, 400W. Like this. Best bass speaker I have ever tried.

I would not get the 200W version if he's running an SVT into one of them. The low end will wear the 200W one out quicker. 400W guy will last forever at Kahoots volume.

ah. thanks for the quick response. :D

if you know of any other bands (or solo tuba players) who would be up for playing a 5MPM/The Big Hug show there in Chicago (if they don't mind setting it up!), or happen to be in or close to Jerusalem, L.A., London, København, Washington state, or India & want to be-added to the line-ups of our pre-existing shows, let me know!

oh, and my ears thank you for the "Cardinal Movements" & "Sevens Sing" mp3s on me handy little mp3 player - and the "Bar Ice" - #2 is an audio treat, but holy crapola are #1 & #3 fucking transcendant rock...

Tim, are you a fan of the Yellow Magic Orchestra? I saw this band on a "Soul Train" repeat on Saturday.

Brad, I don't know 'jack shit' about YMO!

Except I can ID their album covers from 40 paces!

Having worked in record stores for so many years!

Tim, are you a fan of "Soul Train"?

Yes, growing up in MT, it was one of my few regular doses of 'soul' and so forth.

I enjoyed it then, and I would probably enjoy it now.

I am currently seeking clarification regarding this subject.

I dunno who the hell that is, to whom you linked.

I thot he meant Charles Barkley.

Again, I may be wrong, again.

Hey, Tim.

Hey, Beth.

If you were serving elites dinner, what would you choose to serve? Say, unlimited budget, you needn't prepare everything yourself and about eight elites at your home.

Hmmmm. I would probably go counter-elite and get Lem's or something.

So yeah, a whole mess of Lem's small ends and hot links.

Be all, like, shit, you elite ofay fucks, this is real food. EAT IT! Unless they weren't white, in which case I would not be all, like, ofay, just the rest of it.
