the hold steady has combined the worst elements of springsteen and elvis costello with a heaping pile of 90's octave chord pop "punk"
they were on some late night talk show recently and it was more boring than modern death cab for cutie and possibly in the running with coldplay for cheesy, heartfelt performance.

He's the accordion player, I think? I don't know much about this band, but I'm fairly certain that's the same guy that's in World Inferno Friendship Society, and they've been very kickass the 3 or 4 times I've seen them.
