I like them, but I like canned mussels or oysters more. And I don't care for the mustard.

Does everyone but me enjoy the bones/spinal column? I just can't bring myself to enjoy them, but bearing in mind the calcium source perhaps I ought to try harder.

I have yet to eat any with heads attached, as well. Don't know if I could manage.

I think the nicest ones (at least that you find in the UK) are French or Portuguese that are canned in olive oil, they taste delicious and seem to have better texture.

As fine a snack as the canned item is, you simply can't beat the cheap and simple joy of grilled sardines in summer.

They looked gross to me when I was a kid and my old man ate them, then a few months back I figured I would finally give them a try. After all, I'll eat squid and octopus and eel and my parents won't.

Pretty much all the brands in the US abandoned the key when I was in high school, which is a bummer. I miss them too.

I really like sardines. My grandfather ate them all the time, and sometimes he'd let me have some. I'm not a fan of the tomato sauce ones, and nowadays my own purchases lean towards the ones in olive oil.

The grilled ones rule. I like to get them at Japanese restaurants.

I ate freshly-caught sardines when I was in Essaouira. Now the canned shit just depresses me.
