My asbestos suit has been donned. Flame away.

I've blown you a sloppy trans-oceanic kiss (duck!).

King Crimson – Larks’ Tongues in Aspic (why oh why oh why did no-one tell me how good King Crimson were when I was sixteen and trying desperately and in futility to get into early Genesis and Yes? I am now thirty-two and have just heard this. It is good.)

Tortoise – It’s All Around You (when I first heard this I just had images of people in white polo necks listening to it in executive apartments on cocaine. But it’s eaten away at my brain. The record, not cocaine. Although…)

Spacemen 3 – The Perfect Prescription (I was one of those poor misguided fools that was into Loop. Perhaps it was the long hair and black clothes. What an idiot.)

Mogwai – Government Comissions (no-one but no-one but no-one will see you through a far too heavy mushroom trip like Mogwai. When there’s nothing left to say, they manage to say it. I love Mogwai.)

Envy – A Dead Sinking Story ( the only record I will not play while my flatmate is in. Beautiful and monstrous. All other hardcore bands may now cease operation: the lost chord has been located in Japan. If you haven’t heard Envy yet, listen to the last track on this album, ‘A Will Remains in the Ashes’. It will eat your head and swell your heart.)

I thank you.
