but digital studio equipment is a little off-topic for this forum

Don't be silly. We're not analog Natzis here.

No, I saw plenty of Eventide and digital effects in the outboard gear list. But I think more people come to EA for the plate reverb than the Eventide Harmonizer. Actually, I think we all know why so many people come to EA. I'm sure a lot more people will come after seeing this site. This is a great site, it has dispelled a lot of myths for me about EA being an inaccessible 'industry' recording studio. My band has decided to pool our funds and try to book time to record our album there sometime next year.

Keep up the good work. I love the gear reviews. Keep your SM-58 clean!

Suprisingly, in the last year we've had around 10 months of full-on pro-tools session work (sometimes in both studios). We've tried to make it easy for any format to swoop in and connect in a matter of minutes. The engineers that are using these formats (pt, radar, logic, and so on) usually have there own rigg that they trust and bring with them. We considered buying a good clock, and good converters once, but it's hard to spend that much money on something that in its very nature becomes obsolete quickly.
How many people here think they will have this [your] computer 5 years from now?
If I were routinely making what I call a "perfect performance" records, where there is nothing out of time, tune and talent allowed I would probably have my own set-up too. I'm actually thinking of getting a Digi002 for my home studio for random odds and ends.

sorry for the ranting
I'm glad you like the studio
