"Hades" was an obsession for a good few months. I was bad at the game for a long time, then the pagan gods got into my hands and I started blasting through the Pacts of Punishment. I absolutely adore it, and forced myself to stop playing a couple of months ago as it had become a fidget reflex. Haven't played much since apart from GTA Online with my clown power trio. Listening to FM **** whimper for 15 minutes after me and our companion died and left him alone in a survival match is a lifetime gaming highlight. He knew we were listening, and it became a sort of performance art piece of cowardice. His whimpers were close to orgasmic.

"Disco Elysium" is next on the list, I think. I have a scary backlog and I really must start playing games rather than watch them on YouTube, which has become my couch potato habit. I finished "Kentucky Route Zero", was impressed by it, but I have no compulsion to return to it to see if there is depth under its style and Lynchian numbers.

Been p0wning n00bs weekly in Counterstrike and Verdun with my friend on the east coast.

I have a massive and incredibly socially complex Sims 4 game going. Mods and everything. Drugs, sex, all of it. It’s fucking hilarious. The lives I’ve led…

Same friend and I are getting Mortal Kombat 11 soon and deep diving into that. That shit on the Super Nintendo was our jam in college. We played it online on other consoles over the years. Gotta get back into it with him. Liu Kang will win again. Liu Kang always wins.

I remember you talking about this in the old thread. There's no chance for me cos I'm mac and console bound. Unless someone somewhere decides to whack it on one of those I won't be able to understand why you love it so much.
I'm on a Mac. I just downloaded a windows trial from the Microsoft website and used Bootcamp to install it. Super, super easy, if you have some extra hard-drive space.

That game sucked me in and like everyone else I have a love-hate relationship with it. I think it's fundamentally badly designed in places, but with a few mods (like a slightly zoomed out camera) it's a little more balanced and one of the best original games I've played. There's a lot to explore...
I think all games of the type 'suffer' designwise, if you look at them traditionally. I've found that a lot of people who play to win, i.e. reach the finish, don't get along wit roguelike/lites but if you're in it for the experience of the run, regardless of what it may bring, then they're hard to beat. Noita is peerless in that regard for me, although Returnal is a finer pure arcade experience.

Minecraft. Not enough hours in the day for it.

I always said I would never play Minecraft because I could tell that if I started I would die within a short period of time, cause I would stop going to work and stop eating and sleeping and all that and just play 24-7 until I was toast. Then there was a global pandemic that completely shut down my industry and made work not an option, so, I figured FUCK IT!

Easy to see why it’s the most successful game ever.

Noita looks amazing. Sort of a spiritual successor to another Finnish weirdo game, Liero
https://youtu.be/l2yi60-grHs
(used to play Liero deathmatches all the time in computer lab back in highschool)

another crazy fun game is Katamari Damacy
https://youtu.be/hEAP-4iUirY

and I'm very interested in "sandbox adventure" games, like Elsinore
https://youtu.be/zWp9eRoKMO8?t=25

unfortunately with all of these I don't have the time/patience to sit down and play more than an hour or so. Over the coming summer I've been planning to work on creating my own game, but all the time I spend on games is less time spent on music, which makes me pretty anxious
