House/work keys met an unfortunate end today. A rescue effort was made, many "fucks" were exclaimed, but they belong to the C.H.U.D. now.

EDIT: to be clear I was not fiddling, playing, jostling, or jingling. I was working. Hard. Keys were clipped to my belt, apparently by a substandard thingy, then plop.

What if your keys are legion tho? Have you ever thought about that? Do you ever think of anyone else's key-pocket troubles? No, you don't.

I'm on Team Enframed. This has always puzzled me. My two questions are:

1. Holy shit how many lockable things do you own what the hell holy shit
2. Ok so you have 14 Hello Kitty padlock diaries, do you really need an "at a moment's notice, on my person at all times" relationship with those keys?

I distinctly recall the near-overnight appearance of the carabiner with 10+ keys circa 2002. It was like a directive. So weird.

My old apartment in Chicago had a stupid amount of keys:

1. Front gate
2. Front building entrance
3. Apartment entrance
4. Laundry room
5. Mailbox
6. Rear building entrance
7. Rear gate

Add in keys for my van, practice space, bike lock---yeah, I'm not putting that in a fucking pocket.

Even now I've got house key, van key, bike lock, bass case lock, earplugs holder--also too big for a pocket.

How often do you use rear gate? Rear building entrance? Do you really need all those keys on your person at all times?

Laundry room and mailbox can all be kept in the house and grabbed when needed.

Help me help you organize your keys.

So what did everyone do before carabiners then? I'm serious, it was like a sudden overnight thing. Karabinernacht.

Was it just pockets filled to the brim with keys- some private hell of which I was unaware? Working on a dissertation titled Or Are You Just Happy to See Me: The Inner-Outer Body Migration of Commodity Fetish Signifiers, so I need to know.

I really hope you meant that your earplugs holder has a lock, and not just that it'd take up room in a pocket.

Suffered in equal parts silence and ignorance - with a bulky pocket.

I've upgraded; no more accidents. Super butch.
