Great album! I don't know their discography all that well but there are some jams after this one and they were definitely a force live in the early 70's. Not sure what happened. When did Terry Kath shoot himself? I assume the band got noticeably worse after his death but don't honestly know.

^yeah late '70s, so the band had made plenty of schmaltz by then. He was likely on a lot of substances by then, probably contributing to accidentally shooting himself while cleaning his gun.

His playing is really something else in those early years. I think the music is just alright overall, still kind of corny even when it does rock. But yes, something like 'Free Form Guitar' is pretty shocking considering my parents played this band at their wedding: a song Kath sang I believe.
