@Adam P - The 32 channel Ghost would have fit in the spare bedroom that serves as my studio but it would have required a stand or some kind of table (which the console did not come with, unfortunately.) Likewise, it would have made other things rather cramped. That, combined with the fact that it had various issues, finally tilted me in the other direction. My wife was goading me to get it, believe it or not. She thought I'd regret it later. I sort of do, but not terribly so.
I noticed the Browns helmet as your avatar. Right on! I am originally from Lakewood, and was just back in the CLE visiting. What a great city.
Back to consoles, if anyone is interested in following along with the restoration of this one, I was thinking of setting up a web site to document it. It might not be interesting to people who have done stuff like this before, but who knows.

13Nice. A Ghost should be ok on something like a card table. They’re not terribly unwieldy. I was mostly just riffing on the massiveness of some of the live sound boards as they were designed to be toured and are thusly rather large and heavy.nycsynth wrote: Tue Sep 14, 2021 8:30 pm @Adam P - The 32 channel Ghost would have fit in the spare bedroom that serves as my studio but it would have required a stand or some kind of table (which the console did not come with, unfortunately.) Some other boards from the early 00s with similar feature sets that may be of interest are the Soundtracs Topaz and some of the AMR (Peavey “pro” line) stuff.
Re: Lakewood, I enjoy going there quite a bit when I can. I’m an east-sider though (10 years in South Euclid before moving to the Chagrin Falls area a few years ago) so I believe the bylaws state that we must be enemies.

Classic! Maybe not enemies, but certainly a passport is needed to breach the borders!

Re: Soundcraft Spirit Studio
15I've started documenting my project to refurbish my 1990's Soundcraft Spirit Studio 16, for thos who registered interest.
For those unfamiliar, Github is a site devoted to managing source code for software projects, but it has some documentation features. Because I am a sofware engineer by trade, I use it because it's easy for me. If you hit the link, scroll down to see view the README file with project details / updates. Updates are in reverse chronological order for now, I might change this format later.

There is no way to comment on this site, so if people have questions, just shoot me a note here, or hit me directly at dialtr at gmail dot com. I've found that Wordpress and other sites are a pain and usually extremely insecure, so any comment sections get overwhelmed with Viagra ads, jerks, and other garbage.
P.S. I realize that this whole project might not make sense to people due to the lineage of the console, but bear in mind that this is a practice run for later, more ambitious projects... Plus, looking at the specs and listening to it, I think this console is actually pretty solid and will be even better once it's cleaned and gone through.
