speed plugin

I've got a track I'm working on that I kind of wish I could speed up / slow down at times (with pitch variation) to mimic what it would sound like on a tape deck. Is there a plug in or some relatively easy way of accomplishing this in Pro Tools that anyone knows of?

I'm a Cubase user and I know it has high-speed scrubbing functionality. Never actually used it, but it's definitely there.
Probably have to be working at high enough sample rates and it probably crushes the CPU...

Is there really no similar feature in Logic or PT?
DIY and die anyway.

If I'm reading this right, and we are talking "Ramblin' Man"?

Reaper will do just that. Check out the fifth post in this thread...

Reaper can do this in many ways. Item Pitch/tempo envelope, Tempo track markers with the item set to Time Base (auto stretch), plugins... probably more. Reaper rules. Oh yeah, stretch markers too.

Scrubby goes zipping around through time. Speeding up or slowing down playback, moving backwards or forwards, Scrubby does whatever it takes to reach its destinations on time. If necessary, you can discipline Scrubby by using pitch constraint control, & of course you have a choice between robot mode & DJ mode.
That is definitely some ad copy. I haven't used Scrubby in maybe 20 years and don't really remember how it works. Was I a Robot... was I a DJ? It came to mind as a thing that sounded "tape slow down" Cassette transport definitely does this trick as do most "tape emulator" plugins. I would guess that most DAW can do it some way too, considering Reaper can do it so many ways.

I ended up using the time shift / pitch shift plugin in Audiosuite - it got me the end result I wanted, I just had to do it section by section and edit them together afterwards (which was kind of a pain but not as bad as I was thinking it would be.)
