Pretty upset to hear about DH Peligro. Early punk drumming hero of mine and I still love drumming along to Plastic Surgery Disasters.

I guess if you suddenly lose consciousness and fall, there’d be a good chance hit your head, and maybe that’s what happened. I lost a friend a couple years ago like that.

Dead Kennedys are among the top 5 or 10 American punk bands of all time.

Was cranking--CRANKING--the original 12" of In God We Trust, Inc. a couple of months back and it was weirdly cathartic and emotional; like, eyes watering up at how tracks like "Moral Majority," "Religious Vomit," and "Nazi Punks Fuck Off!" have only become MORE relevant. I tend to repress those feelings, as "angry" isn't the ideal setting for a middle aged white guy with "issues," but the DKs took the ball there and ran with it, to great effect.

Their original drummer was adept too, but D.H. Peligro was an ideal fit for the band as hardcore was becoming more of a thing and they both played it and subverted it.

Everybody I knew who was punk-sympathetic back in high school liked them.

A fantastic drummer for a cool band, that I still listen to.
