It's really gonna look great when all coated up. They actually did a pretty shitty job of installing it, so we much of January was "what do we do now, tear out and re-do? LVP (vinyl?) and they eat it? Just coat it well and pray?" - we're coating it and praying. Guess we'll see.

Fireplace build (upstairs) was shit too, so I had them tear that down and i'm having my guys re-do it as we speak. Subcontractors, man. That was a heavy convo.

Very hectic last month or so. But, ONWARD!

Wood Stove #2 finally installed. This was ordered well over a year ago, back when it all began. How time flies. Blaze King, beloved by the wood burning nerds I found from some digging around on some old school, 90’s esque message board. Looks killer. Getting there!

New fireplace build. It was a tough few weeks, and a long story, but the original subcontractor’s work was terrible, logistically and aesthetically. I sat down the business owner and for the first time in this whole process, said “no, sorry, it’s nowhere near good, we’re tearing it down, and I’m not paying for it.” This is a rough conversation, but my experience from Chicago took over immediately, and they really had no recourse to that. Happy to have good side crew to back me up, and they made quick work of doing it the right way. Final product looks amazing. Countertops this week? LFG.
