The Myna Birds, though it was Rick James and not Prince. You can find a few tracks on YouTube. It’s honestly not all that great, though perhaps it could’ve become that eventually.

Respected Chicago free jazz sax player Mars Williams (RIP, Fuck Cancer) also played on that Waitresses song. Who else can do Albert Ayler tributes and get played at the mall every year..
