Thinking about paying $52 to see Nitzer Ebb and Clock DVA at Cold Waves. I'm not really into any of the other bands but $52 appears reasonable for a first time experience with both bands. Hell, I'd pay $52 for Nitzer Ebb alone.

I am honestly so ready to go home from this trip to the Philippines that I’m even looking forward to the 20 hr plane ride.

This feeling of living on borrowed time, financially, is so god damn oppressive; I'm so sick of being underpaid/overworked, so sick of knowing I can't financially support my family on my own. If those morons in the federal government torch PSLF I'm going to lose my mind.

Suffice it to say, now wouldn't be a great time for aliens to visit Planet Earth.

This was my third time to see him perform solo, and it paled in comparison to the other two. He seemed to have a tough time getting his bearings. He did a lot of talking about his childhood, and was mostly improvising. He seemed to be in good spirits, but he was also very distracted. I left the show underwhelmed.

I saw Frank Hurricane play last night. It was everything that the Dan Higgs show wasn’t. He played on a back porch in South Austin beneath a full moon, and he had the audience clinging to his every word. Such a fantastic songwriter and storyteller. An American treasure to the nth degree.

The lyrics to The Cult’s “Fire Woman” are impressively dumb. If you searched-and-replaced “fire” for “hot,” you’d have a Kiss song.

Breathtakingly dumb.

I strangely admire them.
