Funny you mention this. I just came into the thread to mention I’d deleted the app off my phone.

My account and who I follow is primarily war gaming and food stuff. The most frustrating thing is even something like Timeout London just gets flooded with racism and dipshits. Today was the final binning-up of anything I'm removing from my childhood home. A lot of things to keep, though much more is also being discarded. It's the end of a year-long process. Goddamn, do people accumulate a lot of stuff.

WOW! It seems like a lot happened the last few weeks. Or we hadn't discussed it in a while. I'm kinda envious of the opportunity. My childhood home was sold 9 years ago. I was not given the option to be involved in the subsequent downsizing and packing. Now with the old man gone 5 years, there are little things I wish I could have at least touched before a decision was made.

Having just taken possession of the family Victrola, I could check ours, if I hadn't moved it right into storage. But! there should be an angle adjustment--this looks way too shallow. There's a note on stylus angle on this reproduction of the Victrola manual--does that help? (Updated with better link.)

There are two oak trees that hang over my house, each one around 150 years old. They start pollinating in late March/early April, and make this place an allergy hell for about a month. Oak pollen makes me lethargic and depressed. I wish I could just leave town while those trees are ejaculating. Yellow-green dust over EVERYTHING, and no rain to wash it all away.

You're welcome, Randall! Just out of curiosity, do you have the tabletop or the floor-standing model? I'd think the floor-standing model might have more room in which to work for servicing it, though you should be able to work even the tabletop model, if you need to.
