I have one of these and think it sounds great. I play jazzy clean stuff, indie/shoegaze strummy things, or occasionally djenty metal riffs and it works great for all of it.
Re: Small questions that don't fit anywhere
2382If you still want a 2x12 and want a lightweight cab, the guitarist in my band recently got one of these Mojotone cabs and put a couple of Celestion neo Vintage 30s (or equivalent) in it. Sounds pretty dang good, and you can pick it up and swing it around with one arm no problem.

Re: Small questions that don't fit anywhere
2383Do you know if the original square design and the wider design have any significant differences?
Re: Small questions that don't fit anywhere
2384This looks interesting, built like the Avatar, a little cheaper and vertical: https://www.mojotone.com/Mojotone-1x12- ... on-Cabinet
Seems like the material doesn't matter as much as the geometry.
They also make 1x12 ported closed back cabs.

2385Yeah, Eminence makes some neo ("lite") versions of some of their speakers too. I recall someone on here talking up the Tonkerlite, and I liked the regular Tonker I had.
(though it's a difference of a few lbs with 1 speaker and most people here can probably lift a 20-25lb cab no problem)
Re: Small questions that don't fit anywhere
2386I haven't knowingly heard the guitar speakers but for sure the Eminence Neo 3015 speakers are great. I've got them in a Mesa 2x15 and it made that cab much easier to deal with moving in and out of the van. Will definitely replace the rest of the 15s I've got with those whenever they blow.penningtron wrote: Mon Apr 14, 2025 12:07 pmYeah, Eminence makes some neo ("lite") versions of some of their speakers too. Re: Small questions that don't fit anywhere
2387+1 For the Eminence Kappalite 15s, they are so much lighter and sound as good or better than the EV15s they replaced in my cabs.
also +100 for Eminence staff seem like good people

Re: Small questions that don't fit anywhere
2388The kappalite in my bass cab shucked off a good 6-8 lbs. Incredible.
Re: Small questions that don't fit anywhere
2389ideas for cheap nonstandard synth controllers? Trying for ondes / theremin / or even lap steel sort of sounds between the piano keys. I think similar sounds can be created with glide settings, but I wanted to try something without using a keyboard that can be physically played.
Here are the inputs on my synth:
I’ve found some ribbon controllers but not really sure where to go with it - some of them look like they require complicated eurorack setups I don’t care to get into.
