Might be an unpopular life practice, but I stopped "consuming" news right around 5 years ago. Other than the sport news. I keep up to date on all that shit. Best decision of my life.

that's because you aren't ignorant. you know what you're missing, and are fine with it. you have to protect your psyche any way you can.

on the other hand, i make my kids read the (non-trump) news because they're still learning about the world and if i just threw them out there with no guidance they'd be happy but unprepared for adulthood.
