2Super NC even with the later attempts to break big.
Nothing major here. Just a regular EU cock. I pull it out and there is beans all over my penis. Bean shells all over my penis...
Re: Band From New Jersey: Rye Coalition
3Hah, I decided to put on On Top this morning as a lark. I loved all their early strictly noisy post-hardcore stuff when I was getting into music but was much less into the stuff where they really leaned into the AC/DC influence.
Listening now with fresh ears? This stuff rules. NC.

4First 2 records are fun, but yeah the butt rock stuff was wink wink Crap.
Re: Band From New Jersey: Rye Coalition
5when they were around i enjoyed both eras of the band (although the record done by Grohl runs out of momentum really quick) but now I find myself only listening to On Top and Jersey Girls. Jersey Girls has some incredible songs.
Fucking tremendous live, they always sounded really good.
not crap.

Re: Band From New Jersey: Rye Coalition
6Early stuff not crap. Maybe Jersey needed its own AC/DC, though. Should have changed their name to NJ/TP (NJ Turnpike).
I'd rather be throwing darts.
Re: Band From New Jersey: Rye Coalition
7Not crap for early stuff - the rock era was well done but didn’t float my boat. Iron fist in a velvet glove is a fucking awesome song. Also instant not crap for the split w Karp
Re: Band From New Jersey: Rye Coalition
8Only familiar with the first Lp which is fun although the singer can be a bit too much Davidyowesque. NC I guess.

9On Top/Jersey Girls is the closest we'll get to what it would have sounded like if Steve had actually gotten to record AC/DC. I don't love every song on those records, but they SOUND amazing.
Pre-On Top is great (Karp split especially), post-On Top I honestly don't remember if I ever got through all of Curses.
They were good the one time I saw them in late 2002 in Vancouver BC, but Federation X (just before they went to Electrical) kinda blew them off the stage.

10What's kind of funny is "Guy joins the Jesus Lizard" and "Yow joins Fugazi" are somehow both accurate descriptions of their early records.Vibracobra wrote: Mon Jun 30, 2025 9:42 am Only familiar with the first Lp which is fun although the singer can be a bit too much Davidyowesque. NC I guess.
As far as post-hardcore 'party' bands go, I think I like Les Savy Fav more.
