28 Years Later had a handful of very cool shots (loved the way the sky looked at night from the 2nd floor bedroom hideout) , but overall, left me bored. I re-watched 28 Days Later beforehand, and I remember it being much better...I'm certain my zombie aversion is at play, but I really like all of the actors (the kid was very good) and Garland/Boyle more or less...but the movie was kind of a nothingburger.

I checked out Juame Belagueró's new Venus streaming on Shudder. I was pretty geeked for a straight-up supernatural offering but the rhythm to this movie is all askew. Decent scares but they are sparse. Worth a watch I guess.

Got a horror boner for the upcoming Traumatika. I hope it doesn't let me down. I haven't really been scared by anything this year. Best Wishes To All is the only thing that made me feel off and all wrong.

Just watched “House of the devil” - pretty good, but I was hoping for more action at the end. I have mixed feelings on the 80s schtick - as a person who lived that era I have a fondness for it, but it’s almost becoming a cliche now - just seems too easy…

Anyhow on a Ti West run now - sacrament is tonight’s viewing - looks great…

Samantha chillin on the couch eating a twix bar is one of my favorite non-scary scenes in a horror movie.

It took one rewatch of The InnKeepers to decide that it rules. I think I like it better than The House of the Devil.

I didn't even recognize Sara Paxton in Weapons until the credits.
"Whatever happened to that album?"
"I broke it, remember? I threw it against the wall and it like, shattered."
