There’s a wave of invincible gods exiting on the way… something I’ve been very attuned to lately is how old everyone is getting.

It's great that Ozzy got to play one last show with the original Sabbath line-up, in their hometown of Birmingham no less. The clips I watched of it seemed pretty emotional. I'm not the biggest metal/seventies classic rock guy these days, but when I started playing guitar in the eighth grade I got into Black Sabbath and some of the usual suspects of then-current heavy stuff. Weirdly, my dad had a copy of their first LP, which he got when it first came out. I listened to it before getting a greatest hits thing, and if any of the music Osbourne was involved in sounds kinda brooding/gothic/"quasi-satanic," that self-titled record fits the bill, haha. I know Black Sabbath and Ozzy's solo endeavors have meant a lot to countless people. Some of those songs Sabbath did are pretty much the origin of doom/stoner metal, whatever one might think of the genre. His vox are instantly recognizable, to this day unlike anyone else's. R.I.P.
