The title track makes me glad the corniest metal band and the corniest rap group found each other. Sometimes I yell "JUDGMENT NIIIIIIGHT!!!" when Jokić hits a 3.
Article was entertaining. The Judgment Night soundtrack is a mess, but nobody knew what they were doing so it's an entertaining nostalgia trip. The Helmet / House of Pain track sorta works the best (in that they basically stick two songs together and don't get in each other's way) and that's most overtly proto-nu-metal moment, IMO. Wasn't suprised to hear that the same people were behind the Spawn soundtrack; that one really sucks.

As a treat, here's the Metallica/ Ja Rule crossover from 2002 that everyone has tried to forget:

I owned the cassette in lil dude times, and definitely rented the movie when it came out on VHS. Movie was entirely forgettable, since I barely remember anything about it other than Emilio Estevez, Dennis Leary, and Cuba Gooding Jr being in the cast. Oh and it was vaguely about suburban normie dudes getting caught up in some bad business in the big scary city?

Sonic Youth/Cypress Hill track is easily the best thing on it. I thought the De La Soul/Teenage Fanclub Tom Petty song was HORRIBLE and it actively turned me off digging any deeper into either band for years. Mudhoney/Sir Mix A Lot is a funny lark. The title track is hilarious.

That's about it, and I likely listened to that cassette about a million times but I was also 11 so cut me some slack.

I have a lot of fuzzy feelings for this totally goofy soundtrack. When I was DJing Packer games at Cactus Club I put on the title track heading into the 4th quarter and the bartender absolutely marked out. "Oh SHIT!! Judgment Night?!?!?" Became an every-week staple after that.

Obviously I love the Faith No More/Boo-Ya TRIBE song because it's a fucking ripper. "Freak Mama" is hilarious. Mr. A-Lot rapping over Mudhoney is a guaranteed win, come on.

The Helmet/House of Pain song makes me laugh for being so lacking in ideas. Uh, let's just thwack our two songs together. So bad, WTF.
